This will be the holding pattern after the merger
The companies said, 'As on the record date, HDFC Limited shareholders will get 42 shares of HDFC Bank for 25 shares having face value of Rs 2, whose face value will be Rs 1. After the merger, HDFC Bank will become a company with 100% public shareholding. After the merger, HDFC Limited will have 41 percent stake in HDFC Bank.
Housing for all vision will get strength
Both the companies said that the combined entity would bring together the forces of both. After the merger, HDFC Bank customers will also be able to use the mortgage as a core product. The boards of both the companies believe that this deal will create long term value for all stakeholders including customers, employees and shareholders. This merger will also give strength to the government's vision of 'Housing for All'.
